The Mav-Lite Shell Blu is a new lightweight jacket from Henri Lloyd. According to the manufacturer, the garment is waterproof and windproof despite its material-saving production. The two-and-a-half-layer fabric is made from recycled polyester fibre. The membrane is also said to be made from a sustainable raw material and yet is still extremely breathable. However, the manufacturer does not provide exact values.
The jacket's seams are taped on the inside and do not let water through. The fabric also offers plenty of freedom of movement thanks to two-way stretch. This ensures a high level of comfort. The outer fabric layer is said to be particularly resistant to abrasion, thus guaranteeing a long product life. Henri Lloyd also promises that the jacket dries quickly.
This would make it ideal for putting on quickly in a sudden rain shower and packing it away again as soon as the sun starts shining again. However, it is unlikely to be particularly warm due to the lack of lining; a mid-layer is also recommended at low temperatures. The two side pockets and one chest pocket are waterproof thanks to AquaGuard zips. The hood is part of the collar and cannot be stowed away. The cuffs are adjustable but have no cuffs on the inside.
The jacket is produced in Poland, so there are no long transport routes, the manufacturer emphasises. In addition to the eye-catching colour Mango Sorbet (pictured), it is also available in a dark blue called Navy Blue. The men's version is also available in Ice, a silver-grey colour. The jacket is available in sizes XS to XXL for women and S to XXL for men; it is machine washable up to 40 degrees. The price for the Mav-Lite Shell Blu is 190 euros.
