Built in 1953 by Scharstein in Strande, the Jolli was already the subject of a discussion in YACHT about the needs of racing and travelling dinghy sailors in the year of its birth. The dinghy cruiser was rapidly becoming a pure regatta boat; the dual use fell by the wayside. The "Spatz", with its comfort features of more space and weight, was the "other extreme", as the report was titled at the time.
Today, Adolf Harms' construction is sailing on the Schlei, not only in good condition, but also almost in its original condition. This makes the 7.74 metre long wooden boat a contemporary witness to the up-and-coming touring sailing industry in the fifties and sixties.
