Last weekend, the Flensburg Fjord became the stage for the classic dragons, 5.5 and 12 mR yachts, whose crews competed for victory in this year's Robbe & Berking Sterling Cup

This regatta series has been organised by the eponymous group of companies in cooperation with the Flensburg Sailing Club since 1995. The organisers invite different historic classes each year, with the focus on the metre classes, dragons and skerry cruisers. Numerous European and world championships have already been held as part of the Sterling Cup.

The impressive highlight from a spectator's point of view is when the classic twelve-oared boats from the Tune-Up training regatta series, which has been held in the waters off the Danish town of Dyvig for several years, enter the Flensburg Fjord to moor in Glücksburg, where they can be admired in the harbour. However, the regattas are also easy to watch from land and regularly provide spectacular images, as the photo gallery of Jöran Bubke shows.
