In the multihull special in issue 24/2019, YACHT looked at the trend towards using the flybridge on smaller catamarans too. This was triggered by the announcement from Bali Catamarans, who have realised both the helm station and a sun lounge on the upper floor with their new Catspace - a first on the market. The Catspace was presented by Bali as an innovation at the trade fair in Düsseldorf in January.
Now Aventura wants to raise the bar even higher for concepts of this kind. With the recently announced Aventura 37, the shipyard is presenting a boat with a hull length of just 10.90 metres, which also features an extensive sun lounge on the second floor and a sunbathing and seating area on the flybridge. However, the steering position on the new Aventura boat is only attached to the side at half height. A second area for relaxing and sunbathing is provided on the foredeck, where additional cushions can also be used to create a beautiful and large sunbathing area.
The design comes from the Lasta Design Studio and features voluminous hull shapes that taper significantly towards the waterline via striking chine edges, as well as strikingly large windows in the freeboard. The rig is positioned conventionally in front of the cabin superstructure. This means that the overlapping genoa with hollow points on the coachroof is the standard; a self-tacking jib will not be feasible. Aventura Catamarans has not yet published details of the mast height and the exact sail areas. The specific sail plans are still being worked on, according to Tunisia.
The shipyard has also announced some surprising features for the interior below deck. There is a choice of variants with three or four cabins, and up to four separate wet cells will even be possible for use in the charter market. In this size of boat, this variety of layouts and the offer of four cabins, each with its own toilet room, is currently unique. The various layouts are shown in the photo gallery above.
With the Aventura 37, the shipyard is closing the gap between the small Aventura 34 (YACHT 14/2018 test) and the larger Aventura 44. The first new boat is scheduled for completion at the end of 2020. Aventura Catamarans has further expanded production in Tunisia for the new model and is planning a run of 25 new Aventura 37 boats over the next two years.
The shipyard had originally planned to present the new Aventura 37 model in mid-April at the multihull trade fair in La Grande Motte. Unfortunately, these plans had to be scrapped when the trade fair was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. It was also planned to announce the prices at the presentation. The shipyard is therefore still working on the cost breakdown. Only this much is known: The base price for an Aventura 37 is expected to be less than 230,000 euros (net).
The Aventura brand is marketed in Germany by the company Cat Sale represented by Klaus Tietze in Bremen.
