The Austrians from Championships Yachting have now also fitted their Lago 26 sports boat with side wings and have already got the winged vehicle to take off in tests. Now the excitingLago 26 Foiler will be on show at the trade fair in Düsseldorf. Hydrofoils are also becoming increasingly popular in dinghies. As an example of thisThe Foiling Dinghy (test in YACHT 20/2018) from Germany will become a magnet for the public.

TheSpeedlounger 8500 from Holland. The daysailer is made of aluminium and will cause surprises, and not just because of its extremely unconventional appearance.

The foiling dinghy. Foils have also become a major trend in dinghies. Advanced Sailing Technologies (AST), based in Potsdam, has developed an airworthy dinghy under the name The Foiling Dinghy. Hall 15 - Stand G 21

Fareast S/V 14: With its special equipment, the small keelboat from Simonis/Voogd is designed to offer people with disabilities a platform for sporty sailing. The same boat is also available as a small daysailer. Both versions can be seen in Düsseldorf. Hall 15 - Stand D 39

Michael Good is test editor at YACHT and is primarily responsible for new boats, their presentation and the production of test reports. Michael Good lives and works in Switzerland on the shores of Lake Constance. He has been sailing since childhood and, in addition to his professional activities, has also been an active regatta sailor for many years, currently mainly in the Finn Dinghy and Melges 24 classes. He is also co-owner of a 45 National Cruiser built in 1917.
