Small pantry, big challenge
Using the cooking box of our Refit-Dehlya 25 "Willy" as an example, we give tips on planning and equipping pantries on small boats. Now in PDF download

The overall concept for the refit of the Dehlya 25 did not envisage a fully-fledged small cruising yacht, but rather a weekender that one or two people could take out for a few hours or a weekend cruise - just breakfast on board, meals ashore in the restaurant, emergency toiletries in the harbour. So no built-in toilet, no fully-fledged galley - just a cooking box that is as inconspicuous as possible and doesn't take up any space in the interior, which offers the bare essentials for boiling coffee water, water for freeze-dried menus or, at most, meals that can be prepared in a pot. In addition, it had to hold a few glasses, cups, cutlery, spices, a bowl and the like. The wish list somehow got longer and longer.

You can read about the results under these conditions and what you need to consider when planning a mini-pantry in issue 17/20 of YACHT, including the advantages and disadvantages of various cooker systems, from gas to spirit to electric.
