Before selecting a suitable new battery, the first question to ask is the energy requirement. When converting to lithium, however, there are other issues that need to be considered. Which circuits are suitable? Are there alternative options? What about the existing charging technology? Can the alternator deliver what the battery requires? How can the charge level be measured? When is the right time to buy new batteries? And finally: How do you dispose of lithium batteries?
