The Kiel Fjord as a cruising destination
The Mecca of sailing is world-famous for its high-calibre regatta events. But the fjord also has a lot to offer cruising sailors. A portrait of the area

Kiel's marinas are a welcome stopover for those travelling through from the Kiel Canal before setting off on a Baltic cruise. Regatta sailors know the Kiel Outer Fjord from the Kiel Week or other of the numerous races that take place here. Few people realise that the Kiel Fjord is also worth a visit as a travel destination.

In addition to the maritime flair, which is characterised by the canal, the shipyards, cruise ships and the navy, there are numerous beaches, secluded spots and sights on land. Not to mention the gastronomic highlights that can be reached by boat.

We show you what you shouldn't miss when cruising in the region. Now in the current issue of YACHT, issue 16/2020. You can find out how to read it here.
