Traditional boats from the Lesser Antilles, old and classic ketches, sloops, schooners and dinghies made up the majority of the fleet, which was also enriched by newer traditional yachts and modern classics. In addition to majestic ships such as the 178-foot schooner "Adix", the 86-foot yawl "Nordwind" or the 114-foot ketch "Saharet of Tyre", the list of participants also included small speedsters such as the 29-foot dragon "Jabberwock" or the J-30 "Absolute Properties (Blue Peter)".
On the first day of the race, there was still a lull and the course had to be shortened accordingly by the organisers. Nevertheless, not all boats reached the finish line in time or gave up early. The general relief was therefore great when a breeze of at least seven to eight knots set in the next day. From the third day onwards, the trade wind also returned, which meant that the conditions were ideal for the boats, crews and photographers with flat seas and 15 knots of wind.
The results were close and several classes were only decided on the last day of the regatta. The legendary racing dinghy "Bolero" took first place in the Vintage & Classic class with two victories on the last two days, while "The Blue Peter" came second and "Seefalke II" third. The traditional sailing class was also decided on the last day. The sloop "Genesis" secured the class win with a first place in the fourth race, "Alani" came second and "New Moon" third.
In the Schooner class, "Charm III" took first place with four wins in a row, while the "Ocean Star" was victorious in the tall ship class. The Spirit of Tradition class was also closely contested. The Nicholson 55 "Eager" won the class by one point, having taken first place in each of the last two races. In the Modern A class, the Soverel 43 "Legacy" secured the class win, while the Modern B class was convincingly won by the kite "Jabberwock". The complete list of results
