There is a lockdown due to the coronavirus outbreak in New Zealand. The Prada Cup could resume at the end of the week

The organisers and the two remaining challengers, the Italian team Luna Rossa and the British team Ineos Team UK, have agreed on a "fluid race calendar". A level 3 lockdown is currently in place for New Zealand due to the coronavirus outbreak, and the continuation of the Prada Cup scheduled for Wednesday has had to be postponed. As long as this level is in place, there will be no race.

The provisional plan is to resume sailing on Friday and then continue on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Whether this schedule can be adhered to depends on the coronavirus situation. However, the teams will be able to train until then, according to the organiser, as the training of the teams and the event itself must be considered separately. Training had already taken place under Stage 3 in 2020.

The teams have therefore returned to the lockdown mode that was previously in place. Those who can are working from home; all others are organised in so-called bubbles, i.e. core teams that are isolated from each other.
