People have always been fascinated by lighthouses, as they are symbols of strength, but also of loneliness, seclusion and aloofness. They evoke wanderlust as well as homesickness. They defy storms, warn of danger and convey a sense of security. The artist Daniela A. Schur could not escape this fascination and made lighthouses the main subject of her works.
Daniela A. Schur has been working as a freelance artist since 2014 and has exhibited at the EU Commission in Brussels, Estonia, Switzerland, Dubai and numerous locations in Germany.
The paintings are created using mixed media, which means that Daniela A. Schur combines acrylic paint with different materials to create her lighthouses on canvas - in small and medium sizes and in portrait format depending on the motif. The strength and symbolic power of her favourite motifs are accentuated by a strong, fresh and striking colour scheme. The lighthouse takes centre stage and the landscape is only of secondary importance.
The original paintings are also available as high-quality art prints on canvas.
